The Emerald Tablet of Hermes & The Kybalion

Two foundational texts of Western Hermeticism. The Emerald Tablet -- a short, cryptic alchemical maxim ("as above, so below") attributed to Hermes Trismegistus -- is presented here through its history and roughly a dozen historical translations side by side. The Kybalion (1908) systematizes Hermetic philosophy into Seven Principles (Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, Gender), as compiled by the pseudonymous "Three Initiates."
